How the Recipe Scaler Parses Input

This utility parses raw text to locate numbers, decimals, and fractional values (such as 1/2 or 1.5). It multiplies each found numeric element by your chosen scaling factor while leaving letters and ingredient descriptors unchanged.

Limitations & Best Practices:

Ensure numbers are written with standard spacing (e.g., use '1.5 cups' or '1/2 cup'). If a line contains cooking instructions like 'Bake for 30 minutes at 350 degrees', those numbers will scale too. Review the output before baking.

For best results, only paste the raw ingredients list rather than full procedural cooking instructions.
